If you are anything like me, you strongly dislike a plain working space. I love to add bits of color and accents anywhere I can to make my desk a more inviting place that I enjoy working at, while also keeping it professional. Here are a few ways and items I use to make my work space more feminine.
To start off with something easy, play around with your computer desktop screen and personalize it to your liking. I chose a simple wallpaper with just a bit of sparkle to keep it looking clean. I also add sticky notes to my desktop instead of having physical ones posted all over the place. The last thing I use to personalize my desktop is a slideshow of pictures in the upper right-hand corner, just a little something to brighten your day!
Another adorable and free way to decorate your space is with monthly printable calendars. I have to track phone calls I receive and using printable calendars is the easiest way for me to do so. I typically search Pinterest, and right now, these are my favorite: https://www.ftd.com/blog/share/printable-calendars
Now to accessorize:
I purchased this mug with the cute saying “Do What You Love” and filled it with Kate Spade pens and pencils I had purchased. Any type of decorative stationary will work for this! Since the pens and pencils have little sayings on them, I like to have them spread out and on display.
This adorable desktop calendar was given to me as a birthday present and I absolutely love it! Each month is a different color with gold accents. The best part, it doesn’t take up much room at all, it fits perfectly next to my computer screen.
One day I came across this spinning stationary tower in the office. No one had been using it so with permission I brought it home and spray painted it this light blue and added some flowers I purchased from Michaels. I get tons of comments, and it really brightens up my work space.
The last thing I have added to my desk is a few pictures of my friends and some inspirational quotes. The first frame is located on my desk next to the DIY tower; it holds a picture of my friend’s wedding in a Kate Spade photo frame. The next is a picture of when I visited Vegas with a few girls; I found this frame at Michaels for a mere $4.00! The last frame is from the dollar store and holds an inspirational quote I purchased.
These are just a few ways I decorate my workspace while still keeping it clean and professional. How do you decorate your space?
