Hello everyone & happy Friday!
I recently purchased some new products from the drugstore; some items I’ve been wanting to try, others are products I’ve used before. Keep reading to see the products I purchased, reviews, and swatches!
I’ve seen these drugstore versions of nude palettes for awhile now, but I always hesitated to purchase them. I decided to pick up two Maybelline palettes – the Nudes and the Rock Nudes because the colors looked gorgeous!
My first impression with these palettes:
These palettes have such beautiful colors and the perfect amount of shimmer and matte, even your basic black is included! However, the pigmentation is definitely nothing spectacular. I had to go over each swatch quite a few times to get the color to really show up. I will post an update when I first use them to see how they blend and wear. These palettes sell for around $17.99 each.
The third palette I purchased is the Rimmel Magnif’eyes shadow.
My first impression:
Again, I love the colors of this palette; there is more shimmer than matte eyeshadows. Still, the pigmentation was a letdown. I really had to dig my fingers into these palettes to get the color for a swatch. I will post an update when I first use this to see how the shadows blend and wear. This palette retails around $16.99.
I also purchased a new bronzer and blush palette from Elf. I picked up the Light blush palette and the Golden bronzer palette.
My first impression:
I absolutely love the color of the bronzer! It gives you a natural sun-kissed glow – who wouldn’t want that! The blush colors are a little pink for my liking, but these palettes are so pigmented and retail between $4-$6!
I then repurchased an Elf primer and the Hard Candy Glamoflauge concealer while the L’Oreal eyeliner and Maybelline brow pencil are new.
I really enjoy the Elf primer ($6.00) since it is lightweight and leaves a nice smooth base for your foundation. So far, I haven’t had any issues with this primer! The Glamoflauge concealer ($6.99) is true to its branding – it is definitely heavy duty! I found this concealer to cover just about any imperfections on my skin!
I have yet to try the Maybelline brow precise shaping pencil ($10.99) but I enjoy using brow pencils and it even comes with a grooming brush! I can’t imagine not liking this product. Lastly, I have to test out this L’Oreal Infallible never fail eyeliner ($8.99). I have extremely watery eyes so I’m excited to see if this can pass the test and wear for 16 hours as the label says. This eyeliner also comes with a smudger that I can’t wait to try! I will post an update after a wear test and let you know!
That’s it for this drugstore trip. I hope you enjoyed reading this post!
